Special Guest Speaker
Holger Durre is the Fire Chief for the City of Prescott Fire Department. Chief Durre has worked in public safety since 1995, of which 17 years were at Poudre Fire Authority in Fort Collins where he held positions as a Battalion Chief, Accreditation Manager, Captain, Assistant Fire Marshal, Driver/Operator and Firefighter. He most recently worked for Boulder Fire-Rescue, in Boulder as a Deputy Chief. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the support and administrative functions of the department. Chief Durre came into the fire service through his experience in EMS as part of a hospital-based ambulance service which instilled in him the importance of EMS in today’s public safety environment.
His fire service experience is unique in terms of governmental exposure having served in both a fire authority and a municipal fire department. Chief Durre has experience working with several models of organizations including combination (paid and volunteer) and collective bargaining organizations. Chief Durre is passionate about helping lead the fire service to embrace a new level of relevance, leveraging modern technology, and developing sustainable and evidence-based public safety models that honor the traditions which serve as a foundation of the integrity and professionalism of the profession.
He holds a master’s degree in public administration, is designated as a Chief Fire Officer through the Center for Public Safety Excellence and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer program. He is an advocate for firefighter well-being and consults with the All Clear Foundation in developing programs for emergency responders that support their work.
Ben Roché has worked in Fire Service since 1998, starting with the Prescott National Forest. He is currently an Engine Captain with Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority and President of the United Yavapai Fire Fighters, representing the men and women who serve as professional firefighters in Western Yavapai County. Additionally, he serves on the executive board of the Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona, which represent all the professional firefighters in the state of Arizona.
Ben has dedicated his life to public service and supporting public safety as part of the Fire Service. He is an Arizona native and alumni of Prescott High School and Yavapai College. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors and vacationing. Ben is married with four children, and he lives in Chino Valley with his wife and their family.
