Guidelines for Volunteer Hours

The Campaign Award Program is used to demonstrate the success and involvement of Republican Women at the local, state, and national level.  The program honors individual Clubs and State Federations who spend tremendous amounts if time volunteering (non-paid) for the Republican Party and Republican candidates.

For volunteer hours, include the following activities as well as preparation, travel, and communication time:

Includes time for phone calls, text messages, emails, faxes, scans, computer time, and food preparation, and travel to and from. (This goes for all categories).

Regular hours include:  All RWOP-related events, including luncheons, tours, day/night events, committees, board meetings, rehearsals, conventions, AzFRW or NFRW meetings, various shows, (such as home shows, mixers, fashion shows), fairs, parades, fundraising activities, socials, political classes, court visits, election activities, and inaugurations.

Campaign hours include:  All political and campaign meetings, forums, rallies, fundraisers for candidates, circulation of petitions, phone banks, running for office, voter registration, door knocking for candidates, carrying signs, and travel to and from.

Campaign Calls:  Number of Campaign Calls includes the number of calls made for political and campaign purposes. The time for making those calls should also be reported as Campaign hours too.

Literacy Hours:  Literacy covers anything to do with reading.  For example, Bible study (reading and meetings); reading at churches, rest homes, board/committee meetings; reading books, magazines, newspapers, emails, listening to audio books; proofreading; writing letters; and playing word games (Wordle, Words with Friends, Scrabble, crossword puzzles, board games, etc.).

Precinct Hours:  Volunteering at YAVGOP office, attending precinct meetings and fundraiser dinners, making calls, door knocking in your precinct, and travel to and from.

School Volunteer Hours:  Hours are identified separately from Literacy, Regular, Campaign, and Precinct hours to prevent them from being counted twice.  Hours may include, but are not limited to, participation with schools; educational planning and/or training; volunteer luncheons; school fundraisers; museums; religious teachings; Big Brothers, Big Sisters; Boy Scouts; Girl Scouts; Matforce; Mock Trials; YMCA; and/or Youth Sports.

Remember to carry a notebook with you to record hours each time you participate in any of the above.  Please report your hours each month as these are both State and National competition. You may submit your hours online here.
