EDUCATION

Find out from the source what is happening at the Arizona Legislature. It is not always easy to figure out when a bill is going to be heard, who is the sponsor, or what the exact language is in the bill.

There will be training on February 2nd at 11:00 a.m. and at 6:00 p.m. on how to navigate through AZLEG.gov

Linda Gray is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting re www.AZLEG.gov and how to find information about the legislature and bills.

If you do not know how to connect with Zoom here is a quick tutorial:

The goal of the education program is to promote civic learning and involvement. It equips people with the knowledge they need to take back their power which lies in their ability to make good decisions about voting, imparts the ability to distinguish the founders’ views from misinformation, provides a means to make their voices heard, and for them to share their knowledge with others.

The Problem
The size and scope of our government makes it nearly impossible to understand and navigate; much less comply with all the laws on the books.  The work of governing has largely been delegated by Congress to administrative agencies and it has become a top down proposition; not from the people, as our founders envisioned.

We’re living in a time when there’s a massive amount of inaccurate information.  With the speed of the social media, we risk the rapid spread of this information being shared as “news”.  It’s important that we are able to separate fact from fiction.

For many of us, it’s been literally decades since we studied our founding documents, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and many of us never learned the founding principles that support them.  These principles are as relevant today as they were then and when put in the context of today, provide invaluable guidance on how to govern to maintain a free society.

We will provide trusted and reliable information to people so they can learn, then participate in governing and we’re going to use computers and smartphones as our learning delivery system.   A broad range of information includes:

  1. Founding documents and principles,
  2. Educational videos & classes,
  3. Public policy information (immigration, climate change, healthcare, etc.).
  4. News site links that can be trusted (The Daily Signal etc.),
  5. The best conservative thought (Hoover, Heritage, Hillsdale, Leadership Institute, etc.),
  6. Resources (book & movie recommendations, blogs, etc.)
  7. 2020 election information, (the President’s accomplishments, etc.),
  8. The truth about socialism,
  9. Links to government officials and agencies, and
  10. Other valuable materials and resources.

What is the proper method of disposal for the American Flag?

Picture
 ANSWER:
A U.S. flag should be retired when it is ripped, faded, frayed or otherwise unserviceable as an emblem of the country. Though U.S. Code does not provide specific details on methods of destroying unserviceable flags, the American Legion developed its own ceremony to destroy flags respectfully through burning.

Some chapters of the American Legion, VFW, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts accept public donations of damaged flags for retirement ceremonies.
VFW Post 541 - Prescott , Az. - contact # 928-776-1125
VFW Post 10227 - Prescott Valley, Az. - contact # 928-759-0095
The VFW will accept and properly dispose of your retired American Flag!  We should always treat this symbol of our American Freedom with proper respect.
